Cultivate | Getting to YES! Presented by Carto
Place: Ruth's Chris Steak House, 9990 Jasper Avenue
Cultivate is back! This time we are bringing you four presentations from some homegrown talent. With the ACE Awards not too far away we are getting into the spirit with each speaker discussing YES moments that marked a turning point that lead to something incredible.
Alana Williams, Senior Account Director – DDB
Alana will help you understand why you give a resounding YES! to a great creative idea though you might not even know why.
Tyson Dueck, Creative Manager – Burke Group
Burke saw an increase in demand from existing customers looking for help with design work. They took a risk by developing an internal design team to meet the needs of this niche market, by helping their inhouse teams with overflow, or in some cases their first design project. This presentation will explore the YESpoints along the journey and how to evolve along the way.
Dave Ferris, Product Manager and co-host of Edmonton’s Product Manager Meetup – Jobber
What makes users say YES to your features, content, and calls to action? Many of the tools and data that we use to understand users can often give us the false belief that we also understand the situational context and complicated psychology of what decisions they will make or how they will engage with the things we create. This presentation will be going over a simple framework that can help us get another level deeper in understanding the people that we are designing for, building for, writing to, marketing to, etc. At the end of this talk, you should walk away with a new perspective/tool that you can start using immediately.
Adam Rozenhart, Director, Social Media Strategy – ATB Financial
Achieving cult brand status is a deliberate, strategic ambition that takes dedication and commitment. It’s a path ATB’s been on for a few years now. In his Cultivate talk, Adam Rozenhart, will share part of ATB’s cult brand journey, from corporate culture to customer obsession and a few of the YES moments that got them there.
