This virtual panel brings together industry experts from both the client and agency sides to discuss the evolving dynamics of their working relationships. The panel will explore the challenges agencies and clients face, the importance of clear communication, and the strategies for creating long-term, impactful partnerships that deliver results. Meet our Panelists: Sean Williams – Creative Director, Alberta Motor Association With a background in art direction, Sean honed his skills at local advertising agencies and through freelance collaborations with international brands. At Champion Petfoods, as Creative Director he established the in-house creative department, where he led packaging design and advertising campaigns for their premium brands, ORIJEN and ACANA. Currently, Sean serves as the Creative Director at the Alberta Motor Association’s in-house creative agency, where he oversees the development of AMA’s brand and marketing materials for their various business units. In his spare time, Sean enjoys spending his time with his family and stays active playing ultimate frisbee and snowboarding. Cheryl Meger – Director of Account Services, ZGM Cheryl oversees the account services team at ZGM – the folks responsible for strategy, planning, project management and client relations – while also being the lead for a handful of clients directly. Through her tenure, she has worked most often with not-for-profit clients including groups such as the Government of Alberta, Alberta Health Services, the Winspear Centre, charitable lotteries, and Women Building Futures, etc. Some of her most memorable projects – Pride Tape (anti-homophobia), Covid Loves (Government of Alberta, Covid-19), Plenty of Syph (STI prevention), and others – have received national and international recognitiion from esteemed award shows including the Effies and Clios. Neil Simonton – Director, Brand and Marketing, Government of Alberta Leads advertising, creative, and brand management at the Government of Alberta. As Director, Brand and Marketing, he works closely with agency partners – both creative and media – to develop and deliver ad campaigns in Alberta. A few of them have won ACE Awards. Lawyer by training, marketing guy by trade, Neil worked as an agency-side copywriter in Vancouver and Calgary before succumbing to the irresistible pull of public sector employment in Edmonton. He lives in Ritchie with his family.
