Job Description

Covenant Health is seeking a strategic, collaborative and innovative professional to join a team of self-driven, passionate and high-energy design, digital and communications specialists to provide support to help shape Covenant Health’s digital transformation.

Reporting to the Manager, Digital & Creative Services, the Advisor, Web and Digital is an integral member of a team providing leadership to the organization’s internal and external digital communications efforts.

Using strategic thinking, consultation and teamwork, the advisor contributes to a variety of digital projects and initiatives to advance the strategic directions of the organization and foster a digitally savvy culture.

The advisor provides advice, project management, planning and implementation of digital communications strategies and tactics to support organizational priorities and Covenant Health’s digital transformation.

The position requires strong project management, change management and problem-solving skills and the ability to work with a wide range of different (technical and non-technical) professionals.

This position establishes and maintains positive working relationships with internal and external key stakeholders, digital product owners and strategic partners, including AHS IT, contractors, and consultants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The advisor works collaboratively with the team to foster a digitally savvy culture and to develop and implement digital and creative solutions that create exceptional online experiences. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leads, supports and/or participates in the planning and implementation of digital initiatives to maintain and enhance digital assets, technologies, and products, including websites, intranets, SharePoint and Teams sites.
  • Contributes to the development of digital governance processes, procedures, and guidelines to ensure smooth operations and maximize impact of digital at Covenant. Monitors Covenant’s digital channels and products and enforces governance where necessary.
  • Establishes strong, effective, and trusting cross-functional partnerships with key business areas, digital product owners and subject matter experts to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing and acceptance of the digital strategy.
  • Consults with clients to define requests and provides timely response and support. Translates business needs into digital requirements to identify most appropriate platforms for their digital needs.
  • Adopts and champions a user-centred design approach to optimize digital products and solutions arounds the needs of (internal / external) stakeholders.
  • Configures, maintains, and optimizes various digital tools, including analytics, user behavior, site performance and optimization, web surveys, live chat, email and marketing automation software.
  • Evaluates performance of digital assets in relation to goals and recommends strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Translates analytics into tangible recommendations and meaningful actions to improve performance, user experience, findability & searchability.
  • Provides digital analytics subject matter expertise to help builds data-driven digital team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or degree in web design, management information systems, business, digital marketing, communications or related field
  • A combination of relevant education and work experience will be considered
  • Three to five years’ experience planning, developing, implementing and evaluating data-inspired digital solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with website design, development and management using content management systems. Drupal, OpenText and SharePoint developer experience is a definite asset.
  • Thorough understanding of web-based communication principles and best practices, including user-centred methodologies, web accessibility and usability, responsive design and search engine optimization
  • Proven experience working with Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio and other web analytics tools. Google Analytics certification is an asset.
  • In-depth understanding of online marketing and/or other digital tools
  • Work experience as a digital project manager or account manager. Experience in an agency or agile setting is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, including potential competitive and conflicting priorities and time pressures.
  • Ability to think strategically with proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communicator with client-focused orientation and commitment to providing quality service. Proven ability to interface with diverse technical and non-technical groups spanning all levels in the organization.
  • A self-motivated team player with a proactive, take-charge attitude
  • Strong commitment to personal development and participation in continuing education activities to enhance knowledge of digital marketing trends, best practices, and new technologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Ads and other digital advertising platforms
  • Healthcare and/or public sector environment experience
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • Demonstrated understanding of emerging trends and application in communications technology
  • Strong customer focus, commitment to continuous quality improvement and results-oriented management style

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional travel to other Covenant Health sites
  • Ability to meet tight timelines on emerging issues
  • Occasional scheduled or emergent weekend and after-hours digital communications support for issues management
