Workplace: Hybrid. This position requires on site work at our office in Edmonton for a minimum of 3 days a week. We will not be accepting any applications for full remote workers.

The Gig

Do you love the internet? Do you love making creative interactive experiences? We need to meet & talk with you! We’re looking for a passionate creative front-end developer to help us build our clients’ visions. Someone who loves to build complex layouts, beautiful animations and is interested in the future of the web.

If you have a few years of experience or are self-taught and hungry for experience. We’re looking for someone to help create excellent user experiences & interactions to wow clients and visitors alike. As a member of the Lift team, you’ll experience a wide variety of opportunities as you work alongside the existing team of talented designers, project managers, developers, and strategists.

  • You have an extra interest in interaction design and have a strong sense of motion design.
  • You follow the current trends of interaction & motion design*.* This simply means you love browsing for badass websites on a daily basis, looking for inspiration everywhere.

The requirements:

  • You are NOT required to be completing or have recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field. In the world we live in today, self-directed learning says just as much as formal education.
  • You can write semantic, accessible HTML and know the DOM like the back of your hand.
  • You’re into modular, scalable CSS and care about things like code quality and performance.
  • You’ve got experience building high-quality, responsive layouts and with silky smooth interactions, transitions and animations.
  • You feel right at home with JavaScript, and know your way around React/Next.
  • You relate well to other creative people who have an eye for visual design
  • You know your way around Figma.
  • You’re comfortable with animating SVGs
  • You know the daily basics of using Git

How to stand out:

  • You have some experience with a headless CMS
  • You’re up to date with modern JavaScript practices
  • You have some experience around performance and optimization.
  • You’ve tinkered around with WebGL.
  • You’re interested in learning how to build React Native apps.
