Digital Marketer, Organic & Paid : The Advertising Club of Edmonton

Job Description

Grindstone Theatre is seeking a highly skilled Digital Marketer to join our team. As our Digital Marketer, you will be responsible for planning and executing organic social media strategies, capturing and creating digital video and photo content, as well as planning and managing paid digital advertising campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment within the vibrant entertainment industry.

*Applicants must be 30 or under at this time, as the first eight weeks of the position will be part of the Canada Summer Jobs program

Responsibilities:

Organic Social

  • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies to promote Grindstone Theatre’s brand and productions across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.
  • Manage the social media content calendar, ensuring regular and timely posting to maximize audience engagement.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with the online community to foster positive interactions and build relationships with our audience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in social media marketing, and proactively propose new strategies and initiatives to improve our digital presence.

Content Creation

  • Attend Grindstone events to capture and create social media content and post live.
  • Collaborate with our creative partners (Producers, Writers, Performers, Videographers) to develop and/or source engaging and compelling content for social media posts and digital marketing initiatives, including copy, images, videos, and graphics
  • Basic video editing for digital content use
  • Basic graphic design for digital content use

Paid Digital Advertising

  • Plan and execute paid digital advertising campaigns across platforms like Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and other relevant channels to drive traffic, increase conversions, and achieve specific marketing objectives (e.g. ticket sales, class sign ups, bistro visits, etc)
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify target audiences, analyze competitors, and develop effective targeting strategies for paid advertising campaigns.
  • Monitor the performance of social media and digital advertising campaigns using analytics tools, such as Google Analytics and social media insights, and provide regular reports on key metrics, trends, and insights.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure marketing campaigns align with overall brand messaging and goals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and digital marketing best practices, and share knowledge and insights with the team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in digital marketing, specifically in planning and executing organic social media campaigns and managing paid digital advertising.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, content creation, and community management.
  • Proficiency in utilizing social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout) and analytics platforms (e.g., Facebook Insights, Google Analytics) to track and analyze performance.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Premiere & Photoshop), Figma, Canva or other video and graphic production software, as well as mobile app based video and photo editing capabilities.
  • Familiarity with ad platforms, including Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and other relevant digital advertising platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to tailor messaging to different target audiences.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop and/or brief partners to create engaging content and campaigns that resonate with the target audience.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven approach to decision-making and campaign optimization.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the entertainment industry or performing arts is a plus.
