Creative Designer

The Creative Designer is responsible for the development, design and production of the visual presence both internally and externally.  As the Creative Designer, you will be working as a key member of the Marketing team generating communications assets, including but not limited to, producing digital graphics for promotional campaigns, social media, ads, and other marketing initiatives.  Further, this role will own the brand style guidelines, and will support both the marketing department as well as the rest of the organization in proper use of all branding elements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and maintain digital marketing assets for marketing campaigns including product launches, promotions, partnerships, and community initiatives
  • Create and develop concepts and assets for e-newsletters, banners, ads, social media and landing pages
  • Own and maintain brand guidelines specific to both online and offline specifications
  • Provide leadership and guidance for those required to develop creative assets
  • Work as part of the marketing team with copywriters, designers and executives
  • Contribute to daily/weekly/monthly marketing report-outs and marketing meetings
  • Engage with advertisers and their creative agencies to understand customer needs and identify opportunities to drive innovation
  • Design and develop the online ads to meet our client communications needs based on the strategies and goals
  • Maintain standards of quality creation and content
  • Work with the internal IT department to support web efforts

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in graphic design
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in graphic design, marketing department, advertising agency, design shop or equivalent
  • Experience with WordPress (or other relevant platforms)
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Lightroom
  • Ability to optimize images for web and photo-editing, design e-newsletters, and video editing
  • Familiar with web platforms and Content Management Systems (CMS), email marketing platforms such as MailChimp and basic website design and development
  • Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Team player who fosters collaboration and innovation
  • Demonstrated project management skills and outstanding attention to detail
