ZGM wants your exceptional communication skills! We are hiring an HR Manager to provide generalist services to our Calgary and Edmonton offices, totalling over 80 team members. Reporting to the COO, but interacting with every person, you will provide HR support to the partners and internal stakeholders of ZGM, overseeing employee relations, recruitment, talent retention, professional development, benefits administration, on-boarding, performance management, and culture management. And, while you’re doing all that, you’ll never forget that you’re here to support ZGM’s most valuable asset, our people.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide general HR guidance and support to partners, management and employees as required
  • Work with partners to develop and execute an HR strategy to attract and retain talent based on established goals and objectives
  • Maintain and keep current all employee records, manual and electronic, to ensure all employment standards are met
  • Full cycle recruiting from sourcing, pre-screening, reference checks and on-boarding
  • Prepare team member contracts and job descriptions
  • Professional development and performance management
  • Administer Canada/Alberta Job Grant when applicable
  • Manage terminations and exit interviews
  • Assist team members and managers with conflict resolution/difficult conversations
  • Ensure our workplace is safe, inclusive and harassment-free
  • Update and maintain employee handbook and company policies and procedures
  • Identify and address issues that impact morale, engagement, turnover, absenteeism and productivity
  • Foster and maintain a positive culture
