Founded in 1978, All Weather Windows operates Customer Solution Centres across Western Canada with manufacturing plants headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta. We are currently recruiting for a Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our Edmonton Corporate Office team.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position will be responsible for the implementation of communication strategies to align with the organization’s strategic plan along with creating and disseminating internal and external marketing & communications materials. The Marketing & Communications specialist will oversee the development, management, and maintenance of all online communication vehicles for All Weather Windows. This role will be based in Edmonton; however, for the time being, the role will be primarily virtual (from home), with travel to the Edmonton office on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities will include:

Create and disseminate effective internal and external marketing & communications materials:

  • Articulate and communicate the organizations purpose and strategy
  • Plan, develop, and execute internal communications with employees consistent with organizational policies and procedures
  • Research and help to develop and implement new marketing & communications programs, including email, direct mail, social media, and other initiatives
  • Provide editing services to ensure that all communications are appropriately worded (both in grammar and in content)
  • Ensure that all materials are developed and distributed according to an appropriate timeline
  • Measure return on investment (ROI) for all marketing & communications investments and activities

 

Oversee the development, management, and maintenance of all online communication vehicles, including but not limited to:

  • The All Weather Windows website
  • Email templates
  • Social media accounts (including Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc.)
  • Media Forums

 

Plan, coordinate and manage tradeshows, large company management meetings, customer business seminars, golf tournaments, product launch events, sponsorship related activities and various events at showrooms and customer solutions centres:

 

  • Create original and compelling themes, concepts and content for events and tradeshows
  • Select, negotiate and manage contracts for event venues, caterers and other service providers.
  • Administer trade show and event budget and ensure it is maximized, closely tracking expenses
  • Determine parameters, policies and procedures of event plans.
  • Manage promotional giveaway program to support customer relations
  • Provide communication and promotion support for company events and tradeshows
  • Consistently measure and qualify results and incorporate learning into future marketing activities.
  • Produce reports on events which include obstacles and opportunities encountered as well as ROI
  • Manage internal and external event communications and other office duties as assigned

 

Primary Qualifications Required:

  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or equivalent.
    • Two years’ experience in planning large scale meetings and events preferred 
    • Minimum three years’ experience in a relevant communications/marketing role.
    • Knowledge of SEO and Google Analytics
    • Hands on experience with web content management tools like WordPress
    • Experience with marketing campaigns on social media
    • Proficient communications, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Hands-on individual capable of planning, executing and completing deliverables on time.
    • Solid work ethic and ability to work independently, willing to take the initiative to get things done.
    • Capacity to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • May involve some travel – day trips with some overnight
